Don't Let Go Of Hope

There’s nothing left to loose,
Nothing I can gain,
The dream is over,
Destroyed by the rain
Continuing to pound through
What is left of the home
I stand in
Alone.

The winds stripped by heart
Of all the warmth it held,
The rains soaked my soul,
Silencing the sound that
Rang deep within me.

One star breaks through the cloud,
One ray of light,
I raise my head, silent,
Empty and knowing
The clouds will overtake it
Before my eyes can see.

The raging rain stops,
The howling wind ceases,
I raise my eyes to see the clouds
Have receded…

Footsteps echo though my heart,
Sounds of life within this desolate waste.
A hand reaches out to me,
And all I can do,
Is take it.
